We are here a lot earlier in the summer than normal. Plus there has been a ton of rain...so everything is so green and there is an abundance of flowers and bugs! The mosquitos have been outrageous causing us to either wear mosquito netting or dousing ourselves in OFF! (Although, I have found that Avon skin so soft also is a pretty good deterrent). They are literally hovering on all the screen windows/doors waiting for the chance to suck our blood!!
Aside from the millions of mosquitos, butterflies are ALL over the place. They are soo pretty and thinking back to previous years, I can't say that I ever noticed the butterflies before up here. Anyway, you probably think that the butterflies are abundant due to all the flowers but interestingly enough you can find most of them on the road. Puzzled, I asked Travis why they are on the road and he said that they are probably trying to get the salt from the previous winter! Then we spotted some all clustered together, thinking that was strange, we stopped for a closer look. Those beautiful butterflies were on a HUGE pile of poo! EWW!! Apparently, nectar isn't the only thing they eat...
